£15,000 awarded to local children’s charities

WACCL awarded £5,000 each to three local charities who are working to support young people, raised by last year’s event.

Thank you to the generous businesses and individuals who supported the event. It was fantastic to come together again and raise money for local charities who are all doing valuable work for children and young people.



Levi’s Star supports children with brain tumours and their families throughout Yorkshire. Levi’s Star was established in August 2008, in memory of Levi who tragically lost his life to a brain tumour at the age of six. The charity supports children with brain tumours and their families, alongside raising awareness and promoting research.






Star Bereavement provides a range of bereavement support services to children and young people in Wakefield. Star supports children, young people and their families going through grief when someone important to them dies. Star helps children and young people todevelop coping skills to help them to adjust to their loss and build resilience.



Theatre Royal Performance Academy and Performance Academy Kidz are weekend performing arts training programmes for young people in the Wakefield area. Participants receive high-quality training in singing, dancing and acting, and experience performing on a professional stage. Participants make new friends, build confidence and develop their love for live performance! There are no auditions to join and full bursaries or assisted places are available.

In 2022, WACCL celebrates ten years of supporting local children’s charities. Across the decade, WACCL has raised thousands of pounds for local causes! Don’t miss the opportunity to attend this year’s event on Thursday 8th December 2022 – book now to avoid disappointment.
